Desiring Change

Often we can find ourselves in cycles of experiencing the same problems or struggling with the same sins. We can get emotional for a moment - even crying out to God for freedom and change only to find ourselves facing that same issue some time later. We desire change but the desire alone is just a starting point.

Intentional Obedience

We cannot be so lazy that we want God to change and transform us without us having to do anything differently. We must actively renew our minds, train ourselves in Godliness, and allow the stripping of people, places, habits and lifestyles that keep us from overcoming. A renewed mind should gradually bring about a newness in the way we do life.

Oftentimes we know what it is we need to do, change comes when we simply decide to do it - and do it consistently! Freedom is often the combination of deliverance plus discipline! Remember, faith without works is dead.

And if you find yourself really not knowing what to do - do what you know to do! Keep praying, pouring your heart out before God, asking Him for wisdom. He will come through for you!

Trust His Power, Trust His Love

We have THEE God of the universe resident in our spirit! Believe that He is more than able to empower you to walk in obedience. In all honesty the changes we seek to see in our lives have already been done, but to see freedom manifested in our lives there is a process. Trust that God loves you far too much to leave you as you are, and He will faithfully see you through the process of change.

Remember that you are already and eternally made righteous through your faith in Christ, and nothing can ever separate you from His Love. REST in His Love & Righteousness. Be intentional in obedience, but don't strive into behaviour modification.

Sometimes the reason we find ourselves in cycles is because we simply give up too quickly. But nothing that will stand the test of time is crafted overnight. Keep pressing on regardless of how many times you think you've fallen, failed and taken 20 steps back. Soon enough you will look back and know that His Grace carried you right through!

By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.
