As we transition into another season, and a new school year I wanted to share some encouragement for the days ahead.
Refuel Frequently We can easily refuel our bodies but prioritising the refuelling of our soul & spirit is also key. We've had a year of cancelled plans, forced isolation and constant feeding of trauma through the media. A continual releasing & refilling is so necessary if we are to continue walking in obedience through Abba's strength.
Make time to release disappointments, burdens and overwhelm to be filled with His Joy, Strength, and courage. May we be aware of our need to draw near to Him in our thoughts as often as possible. I pray we can discern when our spirit and soul is crying out for connection with Him rather than the comforts of this world.
Remember, the food of the soul is TRUTH, and the nourishment for our spirit is LOVE (intimacy with God).
Sharing with friends is also another great refuelling. God sent friends can sharpen you, bring clarity, comfort & encouragement for the journey.

Refine your Vision Another key point for this season is refining our vision.
What does Abba want you to focus on moving forward? After a time of laying down our schedules and learning to "do less", should we now pick up everything we were doing before? Were there things that were draining you before lockdown that you can now let go of? Were there activities that were consuming too much of your time, or focus?
Praying Abba would give us wisdom in our schedules and refine His vision for us in this season.

I'm learning in this season how to rest in Abba's peace and go at Abba's pace for me. It really is a discovery process but knowing how to rest -and protect our rest will help keep us from extreme mental, emotional or spiritual weariness.
Let's not feel guilty in resting, but instead be intentional to look after ourselves so that we can serve well. We'll serve well when we work from a place of rest as opposed to striving.
I saw a great, very practical post from Ascribe Culture on four forms of rest.

Resist! As we submit to God in how we are spending our time, refuelling and resting, it's going to be important to learn to say no sometimes. Let's be honest though, saying no can be hard. This is why we have to be clear in vision/assignment first. Think about the things you would rather say yes to in this season. Think about what Abba has set for you to do rather than the pressure that can come from external sources. If we are going to say yes to God, it will indeed mean saying no to something else. Saying no is how we set boundaries -protecting our times of rest and productivity.
Resist the temptation to do everything, be everywhere, compare your season, entertain old habits, relax boundaries, or be distracted & discouraged.
Guard your heart, submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee.

As I was writing this post, an acronym of FOCUS came to mind that my sister shares in this video. A great reminder for us in this season.
My prayer for us is that Abba will indeed help us to stay FOCUSED.
That we Fulfil Only Christs Unique Strategy (Every Day)!
